Early recognition and intervention is key to helping individuals affected by mental ill-health maintain their wellbeing. If mental ill-health is not recognised and effectively reduced it can cause significant harm to various aspects of the person’s life, such as, not being able to uphold work commitments and not maintaining important relationships.

Of course, such consequences of distress should be addressed to help everyone thrive in their private as well as professional lives. However, what are the indicators of such mental distress and what is the best course of action following recognition?
