As of 1 July 2013;

Trainer and Assessor is responsible for providing training and assessment services to an RTO and must meet standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations 2011 as per which (SNR15.4) Training and assessment services are delivered by trainers and assessors who: have the necessary training and assessment competencies determined by the National Quality Council or its successors; and have the relevant vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered or assessed, and can demonstrate current industry skills directly relevant to the training/ assessment being undertaken, and continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/ assessor competence.

VET Trainer / Assessor must:

hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from the TAE10 Training and Education Training Package as a minimum qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalence of competencies; and  be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed; and able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and trainer/ assessor competence.

All trainers and assessors participate in Professional development activities and maintain appropriate records.Training is conducted as per the training and assessment strategy for qualification being delivered.Students are made aware of their responsibilities throughout the learning process. Training resources provided by the RTO are utilised appropriately to facilitate the learning process. Feedback is taken from learners at the end of every term and is passed on to the Training Manager. Record of results is maintained Training is delivered for hours specified on the time table and as per the session plans. Students are made aware of their responsibilities and assessment protocols. All assessments conducted meet rules of evidence and principles of assessment. Areas of improvement in training and assessment materials are identified and suggested to Training Manager. Assessment validation and moderation exercises are conducted as per RTO’s assessment policy and procedure. Academic progress of learners is monitored Follow Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and or protocols.
